Salt & Vinegar Ribbed Cracklings

This item had me at “Salt & Vinegar,” two of my favorite seasonings for potato chips. And there’s one more thing that caught my eye on the packaging.

These cracklings are part of the company’s “Beer Match” series—snacks that go with beer. I don’t much care for the accompanies-beer thing, as I’m not a big beer-drinker, but salt and vinegar? Come to Cindy.

It’s probably because I was expecting these to taste similar to my favorite salt and vinegar potato chips that I was disappointed with these cracklings. They tasted of wheat and tapioca starch (the first two ingredients listed on the bag) more than any of its many seasonings, including salt and vinegar. They weren’t bad, but if you were comparing them to another item (that’s full of salt, vinegar, and potato flavor), then they’re not particularly great. Oh well. Live, learn, and eat some more.

I can’t stand these :\
