Almond Crush Pocky

almondcrushpocky1

I have a box, refrigerator, and freezer with things waiting to be photographed for this Web site. This Almond Crush Pocky had been sitting in the box for the past couple of weeks but let me tell you, it jumped to the front of the photography line after this post.

In replies to that post, person after person expressed basically some variation of, “What the Pocky?! How could she not send you [Ree] the Pocky?” (If there’s such a thing as a mini Internet beatdown, I felt it last Thursday.) Let me just say (again) that I did send The Pioneer Woman Pocky in chocolate and strawberry flavors.

And Pocky will be in the next care package that I mail (which is in the near future; hint: 100 posts. This is number 88.)

So, about the Pocky, because I think we’ve agreed it’s all about the Pocky. This particular flavor features crushed almonds in milk chocolate on biscuit sticks. It’s good. Really good. If you’re a fan of Almond ROCA, I think you’ll like this item.

This small box contained two packs and 10 sticks. Not enough. (However, this flavor does come in two bigger sizes.)

Mmmmm…Pocky.

EDIT: I was not offended by the Pocky thing. Rather, I got a kick that many others love Pocky as much as I do.

Juju: If you provide your city, maybe some readers can name physical stores where you can purchase this Pocky. Otherwise, it’s available on Amazon.com.

Carrie: Right back at you! :-)

Cayle and Andrea: This Almond Crush Pocky is pretty yummy. What I really like about it is that the almond pieces are tiny and distributed well, so you get a good balance of almond, chocolate, and biscuit.

    Yum, yum, yum.
I’m heading straight to the nearest Asian grocery shop after work (I finish in 5 minutes) to get some Pocky — I hope they sell the Almond Crush ones there!

Funny cause much as I love plain almonds, I’m not about the almond pocky. Strawberry and chocolate, yes. Almond, no.

Still trying to find those candies that I used to eat visiting my grandparents in HK. Boss used to get them for me when he’d go back to the UK for visits. They’re in a roll, kind of like a cross between a gummy and a starburst. Ate all the colors but the black ones cause they were currant in flavor or something. Haven’t been able to find here. Same with the coconut candies.

Slammie: Hmmm…I may know the candies-in-a-roll you’re talking about. Not trying to get your hopes up, though…but stay tuned. :-)

Oh the readers of little faith! As if anyone could send someone an introductory basket full of random asian goodies and not include Pocky! I don’t think it’s actually possible in this universe. Maybe in some other awful parallel universe but not this one… :D

I’m excited to see what goes into the next package though!

New to the site, thanks to Ree. Love Pocky, and have eaten the Almond Pocky before. I love it, but actually still prefer the simple goodness of standard Pocky! But, in response to where to get it. I live in Dallas, Texas – don’t mind saying it – and I get mine at……Wal-Mart. Yup, my Wal-Mart has a small Asian aisle where I can get chocolate, Strawberry and Almond Pocky as well as S&B Golden Curry (which is Japanese) and Tiparos Fish Sauce (Thai). I love my Wal-Mart……….

Hupernikao: Wal-Mart? Huh, who would have thought you can get Pocky there. I actually never knew Wal-Mart had an Asian aisle; it’s something I just didn’t consider. I will have to look for that section at my local Wal-Mart. Thanks for letting others know Pocky’s available there. :-)

We can buy Pocky at the grocery stores now! Yay, instead of just at the Oriental market. We did find ‘family’ pack sizes in Vancouver. Which we bought!

    Asian Aisle says:

Kelli: I’ve seen Pocky available (in the Asian aisle) at many American markets. But I’ve only seen the family-sized ones at Asian ones. That’s a lot of Pocky, but I guess it’s not too surprising how fast you can eat them.
