Beard Papa’s Vanilla Custard Cream Puff, Jasmine Tea

I’m going to make this post short and sweet because I think it’s going to be a green tea, Vietnamese instant coffee, and Thai energy drink kind of Monday morning.

Beard Papa’s Vanilla Custard Cream Puff. The creamy and not-too-sweet vanilla custard provided a cool contrast to the crunchy puff pastry. I even saw vanilla bean flecks in the custard. (It was fun to see the woman inject the filling into the cream puff after I placed my order.)

Jasmine Tea, mild and a tad bitter tasting.

Pretty floral designs on the bottle (I like jasmine tea anyway, but this is the real reason I bought it).

Yum on the cream puff! Maybe it’s cause I was raised in the South but I can’t have tea without sugar. LOL! Yes, it causes lots of raised eye brows if and when I do drink it when we’re out for dim sum, etc. But, hey, have you ever tried “bo-lay” tea without it?
I’m salivating.
You always make me want to stop in Little Tokyo on my way home. And then I get there and remember I hate trying to find parking. But I must find a cream puff like this.
yummm!! one of the things I miss about San Francisco!!
Slammie: It’s funny that you mentioned tea and sugar. After taking a sip of this tea, I thought, “Man, this needs some sugar!” Then I remembered that I was drinking jasmine tea and isn’t it supposed to be a little bitter? Anyway, I must add sugar to American-style iced tea.
Juju: Then I’ve done my job.
Dandy: Oh, tough decision—parking or food, parking or food? Food! Beard Papa’s (dang, why do I keep wanting to type/say Papa Beard’s?!) has locations throughout the U.S.
My: I still think wistfully about food I ate in other cities, too.
I remember the first two times I ate this, I choked on the powdered sugar. Inhaled and coughed on. So the third time, I was SUPER careful in eating it. (Though I had also tried to be careful the second time, but failed.)
Lian: Who would have thought the powdered sugar is a choking hazard? Only you, girl, only you.
I’m glad you went on to eat more cream puffs. I’m careful when I eat them, too, but for a different reason—the oozy custard!
They have these at Safeco Field in Seattle! I get them everytime we go see the Mariners, they are a wonderful addition to a baseball game
Amanda: Ah, snacking at ball games—the thing I enjoy the most about attending them.
Garlic fries?! Hello!
