Giveaway (Time’s up)
Thank you for helping me reach a number of posts—100—that at times along the way I wasn’t sure would happen.
This giveaway is for a box filled with likely the following items, as well as other things I’ve featured and have yet to feature on this site.

Chocolate Pocky, Strawberry Pocky.

To enter the giveaway, please answer this question: What is your favorite food?
The giveway will run until 10 PM PST this Thursday. A winner will be randomly selected and announced sometime the next day, this Friday.

That’s a hard one. I love soups espescially lobster bisque and all kinds of seafood.
My favorite food? Wow that’s hard for me. To narrow it down to just one thing.
Probably fried plantains.
Love your site! Your posts give me ideas for my next trip to Mitsuwa Market here in in LA.
My favorite food? Fried chicken and mashed potatoes made by my grandmother.
My favorite food would have to be Butter Chicken.
Sweet potato fries!!!
Chips and Salsa
Ice cream
I love all sorts of food, but sushi makes my tummy smile.
Wow, hard to say!! This summer I’ve been obsessed with watermelon.
But my favorite finds from my local asian supermarket are Green Tea Pocky and Chicken, Leek and Mushroom jiaozi.
This is entirely too hard, Cindy! I think I’ll simply list my favorite food that starts with the letter “A”!!
Avocados (which I had for breakfast – spread on garlic bread)!!!
oh, no – wait – what about: Artichokes??!! (It’s impossible to get good artichokes on the East Coast, and I’ve been in withdrawal for YEARS!!)
but then, how could I omit: Asparagus – grilled with a drizzle of garlic truffle oil and fresh ground pepper and sea salt – which I’m eating even as I type??!!
oh – and don’t forget Applesauce – home-made from apples picked personally that same day?!!
YUMMM!!!!
Sheri
P.S. Have you tried Choco-Boy?? Small cookie/biscuits with chocolate mushroom caps – OMG – they’re WONDERFUL!! There’s about 30 in a box – my daughter and I ate the whole thing in one sitting!!
It’s hard to choose a favorite, but I think I might have to go with adobo. It’s a filipino dish that I happen to be making for dinner tonight! Mmmm…..if only it was 6 and I was cooking, instead of noon and dreaming about it.
I’ve always wanted to try Sriracha. hmmmm My favorite food ever though would have to be cheese though. lol :p
Anything raw really.. Oysters, Tuna or Salmon, a blue rare ribeye..
mmmm.. time for lunch!
Sweet and spicy chicken
That’s hard – but I’d have to say that you can never go wrong with a warm chocolate chip cookie.
p.s. I love your blog. It reminds of growing up in CA and being exposed to all of this fun Asian cuisine. (Not so much of that here in Indiana!)
wow that’s hard ^^ but I think it’s daifuku yum yum I’d do anything for one ^^ I’m a sweet tooth ^^
Pasta carbonara for food. But I won’t say no to fresh sushi.
My mom’s cheesecake. Mmm.
i absolutely love hummus on pita bread and veg stick… YUM…
potatoes! mashed, fried, soup, baked, with cheese, with peas … and so many other ways. if it has potatoes then i’ll eat it!
btw i absolutely love your website, heard about it on pioneerwoman, and i’ve been following it since! i’m actually planning on buying some asian snacks and candy on amazon to give my brother for his birthday.
Thanks for writing this blog!
Sushi. Or a medium rare New York Strip… Now I’m hungry…
My all time favorite is cheese. My favorite Asian food is steamed bbq pork buns. My favorite part of dim sum as a child!
Gyoza! Would go nicely with that dumpling sauce you featured..mmm!
Right now, my favorite thing is Thai curry (all kinds). I crave it all the time!!
too hard to narrow down, but since it’s summer it’s gotta be korean buckwheat noodles (neng myun) in a very icy cold broth! i could eat this all year round.
Frozen green grapes! In the summer (or any time for that matter!), there’s nothing better! They’re like little icy balls of slushy grape goodness!
My favorite food is chicken noodle soup! The good homemade kind though!
Oh goodness. Egg custard tarts, or tomato beef chow mein, or my Mom’s turkey broccoli casserole, or Pho, or…..
My favorite food of all time would have to be fresh, barely ripe strawberries. Also flan would be a close second. Mmm.
Wow, of all the TOUGH questions!
I really love tiramisu… Really, REALLY love it.
Hmmm… I’d say my favorite is fried fish.
Potatoes! Odd, but they’ve been my favorite food since I was quite small… Yummy!
My favorite food is cheese fries
Thanks for all the great photos! I miss having an Asian market nearby.
Favorite food: A good omelet with lots of vegetables and spice! Zing!
There’s this amazing Burmese restaurant in San Francisco called Burma Super Star. The food is worth a trip to SF in itself. So amazing. My favorite food is their Samusa Soup. Apparently there’s a letter change between Indian and Thai samosas and Burmese samusas but they’re essentially the same. The soup is rich and spicy and amazing and has all these pieces of gorgeous potato samusa. Man, I miss that restaurant. The food is so good it made my food snob husband cry.
Cheese. It has to be cheese. Or potatoes. Cheesy potatoes?
My favorite food….pasta! I love creamy pastas/melted cheese. Um, creamy Alfredo! That’s what I love. <3
Asian food! Particularly katsu don (pork cutlets with egg on rice), unadon (teriyaki eel on rice), guo tie (potstickers), mee pok (thin flat wheat noodles with minced pork and chili) and mooncakes.
That’s a hard question! I’m not sure I have one particular favorite food. I love Indian food, though, especially Dhosas!
Sushi of all kinds! Nom nom nom.
Dragon roll from Joy Sushi in San Mateo, CA!
Grilled cheese, the perfect comfort food. I could eat it every day for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy!
AH! i could eat everything! haha My favorite is very traditional. I have to say I LOVE pho. haha say want you want but having it every week is the best!
Chocolate chip cookies!
It is so hard to narrow it down. I think I would have to go with massaman curry with tofu and a basil roll. Yum.
My kids laugh at this, but beans, any kind, I could eat them everyday.
Hmmm.. I’m going to have to say Pad Thai with chicken.
My favorite food has to be bok choy. It’s strange but I could eat that vegetable every day, for every meal. Of course, I like food to go with it but as long as it has bok choy in it, I could eat anything else with it and be happy.
Mashed potatoes…made with heavy cream and butter and Kosher salt and black pepper. ::swoon::
Dear readers: Thank you for sharing your favorites with me; I’m really, really, enjoying reading them. Who knew they would be so varied?!
Akindofmagick: To answer your question, no, I haven’t tried Choco-Boy. But after reading your description of it, I MUST. I *think* I’ve seen it at my local Japanese supermarket; I’ll need to confirm on my next visit there. Thanks for the rec!
