Mini Cream Wafers

I’ve been eating these cream wafers for as long as I have the Bin-Bin Rice Cracker. So yeah, a long time (I’m still not sayin’ just how long).

They now come in much-too-convenient mini packages, although Garden still makes the larger ones in several flavors including this one, chocolate.

There’s also peanut flavor.

And strawberry.

Way too convenient, right? And since this packaging comprises three flavors, you’ve got to try them all.

Alternating layers of sweet chocolate cream and light, yet softly crunchy wafer make up this snack. The wafers are really dry, so it’d be a good idea to have a drink handy.

The strawberry flavor is as good as the chocolate one.

I like the wafers’ waffle design.

There really is a nice balance of cream and wafer.
(The peanut one was my least favorite of the three, and my photos of it didn’t turn out well so that’s why you don’t see any.)

Those look so good! Where on earth do you get all this stuff?! I have a friend in Japan and she sends me snacks often but I can never find anything like it here except Pocky-which I LUV!
Ah, I remember that logo (the chef’s face with the mustache. I’ve eaten wafers as a child too. Vanilla and coconut were probably the ones we got most often. And strawberry.
I wish I could remember the name of it, but there is this peanut snack in a plastic container, and if I ever see it again, I promise I will get the name of it to you. I didn’t particularly love it but we got it often enough that I grew accustomed to its presence in our house. (And it felt strange when we stopped buying it.) Each cookie is probably like an inch tall and wide. I think it had sesame seeds on top.
Oh, also, Magic Flake crackers. I loved eating them with the won ton soup. You know how there is Cup of Noodles. There is also cup of wonton. (Though I’m sure it has a better name than that.)
Oh! And do you know those roll things? It’s called like, eggroll something. It’s a kind of pastry in a tin. (It’s not the salty eggroll. It’s not the roll cake. It’s all the same yellow light-ish soft flaky-ish and VERY easily crumbles. It should be in an aisle with biscuits & cookies.
I used to love these! Now they are a bit too dry for my taste and I agree with having a drink in hand–I usually have milk! :] Yay for Bin Bin crackers!!
Yum! I love wafers! I havent seen these mini packages, but I’ve had the larger ones. I got this brand to try the more unusual flavours..I tried durian, taro and coconut.
I remember eating those as a kid. Haven’t had them since. LOL!
Lian – those peanut snacks…you aren’t talking like a peanut brittle, are you? I remember those roll things you’re talking about, too. If we’re thinking of the same thing.
I bought the Pandan thing today! The pandan flavor wasn’t very strong. There were also two smaller containers. One was coconut milk and the other was…some sort of sweet..ness…Honey/syrup water? I poured too much coconut and mine was too sweet at first, so I kept adding more pandan. (The coconut milk by itself wasn’t sweet though. It was the honey water!) Mm, overall, it was okay but I likely won’t buy it again.
In response to slammie, I’m not referring to peanut brittle. I actually don’t think I’ve ever had it. Strange. But then again, I’m not normally a fan of peanut, though I DID buy peanut popsicles today [for my brother]. Sweety brand. It was waaaaaaay too sweet. This coming from someone who used to eat sugar cubes straight from the box as a little girl. Also, yay! I’m glad you know what I’m talking about in referring to the roll things.
Whoops! When I said Magic Flakes, I was actually thinking of Sky Flakes. It comes in a big square tin.

Bonny: I’d be surprised if you can’t find the regular-sized wafers in your local Asian markets because I think they’re a pretty common item. Anyway, I get all of the stuff from my site at Asian markets or stores. I have yet to order anything online. At least you’re able to get Pocky!
Lian: I think I know the peanut cookies you’re talking about because I was looking at them a couple of weeks ago (those ones were called sesame cookies and I think they were from Malaysia). And I definitely know the eggroll cookies and Sky Flakes. All three things are on my ever-growing list of things to post.
So did you buy pandan pudding or custard? Do you remember the brand or name so I can avoid buying it?
My: I used to eat these wafers often as a kid and now as an adult, rarely. I dunno, other snacks (with chocolate) usually call to me more. I do like them and think they’re good, but like you, too dry.
Dilani: Yeah, these wafers come in so many different flavors and I think most of them are good.
Slammie: As I said to Lian before, it’s funny how we used to eat certain things, even the same things, as kids, and then stop eating them when we get older. Not sure why…
Yummm! i love these creme filled wafers! Nice pics~ ^^
