Hello Panda Double Choco

Those of you already familiar with Hello Panda biscuits probably know that it comes in three flavors—chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. But did you know it also comes in double chocolate (Double Choco)?

The little biscuits have different prints of sports-playing pandas.

He looks like he’s having fun skiing. Or he’s scared for his life, whatever.

The biscuits have a soft crunch and light chocolate taste.

Most of the chocolate flavor comes from the sweet cream inside.

Besides being cute, light, and addictive, I like how this snack has a good balance of biscuit and cream. (The biscuits-and-cream combination is similar in taste to Pocky.)
Eleventh-hour edit. Okay, not really. But I did take the following two photos after the ones above.

See, I got schooled by someone smarter than me—an eight-year-old relative—that these biscuits have tiny holes in them where the cream is injected. Kind of interesting, no?

I’ve been wanting to try this ever since I saw the other version on PW’s site!
I didn’t think the chocolate-filled ones could get any better, but it looks like they have! YUMMY! I can’t wait to try them.
Ah, see, I never thought about why they had holes. We’re the same in that respect. It’s like this one time when me and my siblings were at a little restaurant and there were two people in the table near ours. An older brother and younger sister. He explained to her that the reason there was rice in the salt shaker was so that not too much salt would come out if you shook it. (So you don’t over salt your food.) And being the eavesdroppers we are, we were all, “Ohhhh…That’s so clever!”
Btw, I’ve always loved the pictures on Hello Panda snacks. Thank you for posting the inside shots too!
Yum! I am so buying these.
I thought the rice was there to keep the salt from clumping. hhhmmm….
Anyhow, I love these little guys. I’ll have to keep an eye out for the chocolate ones.
I’ve never had this flavor! I do like these more than the koala ones…or maybe im biased because Pandas are my favorite animals! lol
Dandy and Juju: These should be next to or very near Pocky in markets. It’s hard to say which one is more fun to eat, Hello Panda or Pocky!
Lian: Huh; I’ve never been aware of rice grains being added to salt shakers—something to ponder!
Shelly: Something else to think about! I don’t always see the Double Choco flavor, but I always see the three other ones.
My: I don’t know if I ate the koala biscuits, but I’ve had some taro-flavored ones that I didn’t like.
Finally! A snack that I’ve eaten other than Pocky!
These are so yummy.
There are Taro flavored ones?! Intriguing! But you say it’s bad so I should try it then. Does it taste like medicine or something? Sometimes flavors end up tasting like medicine (when they can’t get it right.) like grape and cherry flavored candies.
shouldn’t, I meant.
Bonny: Wow, this is only the second item you’ve tried from all the things I’ve had on this site? Interesting!
Lian: Um, it’s hard for me to think of an adjective to describe it. I’ve found that while I really love the taste of fresh taro in things, I haven’t really found an artificial taro-flavored item that I like. It had the same taro taste as that of the taro in taro bubble tea.
We tried the Hello Panda chocolate and vanilla flavors… but we vastly prefer Choco Boys!! If you haven’t found them yet – RUN, do not walk, to your Asian food store and search them out. I put a photo up on my blog to help you locate them!!

Enjoy!!
Akindofmagick: I found them.
And thank goodness they were relatively easy to find. I’ll be doing an upcoming post about them.
ugghhh the “rice in the salt shaker”…..that is to wick any moisture away from the salt so that the crystals don’t stick together, therefore making it flow smoothly out of the shaker
These are so yummy
I’ve only tried chocolate..maybe I’ll go buy some strawberry now!
