Sky Flakes Crackers (Original Flavor, Onion & Chives Flavor)

skyflakesoriginal1

When I have a craving for something salty, I grab these Sky Flakes Crackers in the Original flavor.

A package contains eight single packs.

When I want something salty with extra flavor, I turn to the crackers in the Onion & Chives flavor.

You remember my fondness for little packs of crackers/biscuits/cookies because they’re so convenient? It certainly continues with this.

I say the crackers are great anytime.

Three crackers inside a single pack, what I think is a perfect serving for getting my salt fix.

The crackers are flaky and really salty, saltier than Premium Saltines. I usually eat them on their own, but they can be added to soups (just be cautious about how many crackers you add if the soup is already salty).

These crackers are a snack, of course, but they feel like a little something more because of their strong onion and chives flavor.

They’re savory, just like the Pop-Pan Spring Onion Crackers (but with a less pronounced onion taste).

I always eat these crackers on their own, but like the Pop-Pan Spring Onion Crackers, they’d taste great with cheese.

Yum those look good! I love saltines and matza crackers, etc.

Dandy: Yeah, it’s a great flavor combination in this case (and the salt—let’s not forget the salt!). I also think these crackers are more affordable (both were less than $1.50) and substantial-feeling than other snacks I’ve featured.

Colleen: I’m glad you liked the Snow Pea Crisps. :-) Visiting the Asian aisle is always (still) an adventure for me. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Sarah Lynn: Hmm, I’ve never had matza crackers. I wonder if your fiancĂ© has had the Sky Flakes Crackers? They’re from the Philippines. :-)

Oh, Skyflakes, how I love thee. The original flavor helped me through my bouts of morning sickness with both pregnancies. Now I’ll have to try onion & chives.

Dee: I’ve seen two other ‘new’ flavors, garlic and I think a fiber one. I haven’t tried either, yet.

Ha! I like how I mentioned these and then you post ‘em. Though it sounded like you already knew about them. I don’t recall them being too salty at all! (Higher salt tolerance? Could they have changed the recipe since I last tried them?) I haven’t tried the onions and chives one though. Sounds good! Also, I went to Hong Kong Supermarket today and saw Anka biscuits! I was so amped to see them and totally threw them into the bag. I also saw some of the other food items that you featured in the past. It’s like, Oh! I remember this from the site! She said it was crappy! I’d better stay away from it! (That roll cake thing with lack of creme in it.)

Also, have you heard of D plus bread? The Hokkaido Cream flavored one is the best in my opinion!

Can you tell I went to Mitsuwa today? They had a sale! It was a dollar each.
I also bought a heckuva lot of junk food/ snack foods. And more banana flavored grass jelly drink. There’s coconut flavor now too! I am curious to try that one. I also saw on with a picture of a bee on it. But the lychee one was killer sweet already so I steered clear.

Lian: Yeah, I’ve been eating these in the original flavor for a while now. Someone on LJ mentioned that they, too, didn’t find the crackers too salty so I guess it is about different salt-tolerance levels.

So what do you think of the Anka biscuits?

It kind of freaks me out that anyone would even heed my ramblings. Heck, I’m still freaked out that I even have a food blog!

I *think* I saw the D-plus bread a few weeks ago but the lack of an English description on the packaging deterred me from buying it. But now that I know it has cream, I may try it. ;-)

Oooh, I haven’t seen the grass jelly drink in coconut flavor. Tell me if you try it and like it.
