Four Seasons, Mango, and Guava Juice Nectars

When I drink juice, I prefer it to be from freshly squeezed fruit, usually oranges. But sometimes I don’t want to bother with the washing, cutting, squeezing, and cleaning up. And sometimes I want juice made with fruit other than orange.

Like mixed fruits, for when I’m feeling indecisive. This drink is a blend of pineapple, orange, mango, and guava.

Or mango.

Or guava.

Since these are nectars, they have a thicker consistency than juice, closer to syrup. They’re also sweet, yet not cloyingly so. And the nectars lack the tinny taste some canned drinks have.

I like them in this order: Guava, Mango, Four Seasons. The Guava tastes like pears, the Mango tastes like it should, and I can discern the flavors of pineapple, orange, and mango (but not watermelon) in the Four Seasons.

The nectars are good for a quick fruit-juice fix, but don’t compare to juice from freshly squeezed fruit.

The stepkids (boys, 16 & 13) love the nectars. The Looza brand is readily available here in large, glass bottles.

    Mango is their favorite.

Consomme flavored Calbee chips are the best! Super tasty! It tastes like curry. On the back, there are little pictures of onion, carrot, and a chicken drumstick. (I just like mentioning food.)

Btw, the shot of the 3 drinks in a row is awesome! You should be a food photographer for a magazine or something. How do you always get such perfect lighting?

Bianca-san: I like hearing when an item comes in a different brand; it makes me want to do a taste comparison. Hmm, I guess I’d find the Looza drinks in my local American stores? Thanks for letting me know about them.

Sarah Lynn: I saw yet another flavor at the store yesterday, Calamansi (a citrus fruit that looks like a lime). The can was the same but it was a juice rather than a nectar. I didn’t buy it—I still need to finish the nectars in my refrigerator!

Lian: Thanks for your very generous compliment/kind words about my photo/photography, which I think of as quite amateur. I don’t consider photography even a hobby—I leave home without my camera and it’s deliberate—it’s just something I do for this site. I use a point and shoot, and try to take photos using natural light. I usually think my photos are too dark.

Anyway, Calbee chips come in so many different flavors! I have a bag sitting in my box of goods, but it’s not the Consomme-flavored one. I’ll need to look for that flavor next time. And I appreciate you food recs, no matter how random they sometimes are. :-)

My: Mixing the Guava Nectar with Sprite sounds awesome! I do love Sprite. Thanks for the idea!
