Caplico Cones (Assorted Flavors)

When will I learn to have low expectations rather than high ones? I blame Every Burger for ruining me for other snacks as far as cuteness is concerned.

The Caplico Cones in this bag come in three different flavors: chocolate, strawberry, and chocolate/strawberry. I made up the name of this item, by the way, since I don’t know what it really is (the name on the back of the bag is “Caplico 5p Glico Br.”).

The paper wrapping is cute, and I think the size of the cone makes it a good item to include in a gift bag filled with other treats. This is the chocolate flavor.

Strawberry.

Chocolate/strawberry.

The top of the wrapping.

A closer look because I think it’s cool-looking.

Rrrrppp.

So I was a bit disappointed with how these cones looked.

After Every Burger, I expected to be tortured with cuteness with this item.

I wasn’t, but that didn’t matter much when I tasted the chocolate cone.

It had an airy yet firm chocolate filling that extended all the way to the bottom of the cone. There was even solid chocolate in there that reminded me of the chunk of chocolate at the tip of those real ice cream cones covered in nuts that you can get in the freezer section, which I’m totally forgetting the name of right now. The light and thin cone itself was like the ones you get in boxes at grocery stores or ice cream shops.

The chocolate/strawberry cone.

Cruuunch.

Mmm, chocolate/strawberry cream and chocolate, the truly important things, right?

looks tasty.
where can i get them?
OMG. I have seen these lots but never bought one. Well, that is sure to change!
I TOTALLY grew up eating these. They have mini versions too. Whenever I went out shopping with my grandma I would get one!
Alexis: Try you local Asian (Japanese) markets. Amazon.com also carries it.
A_foxie_smile: Heh, I’d been curious about this item for weeks; the consistency of the airy chocolate/strawberry/chocolate and strawberry cream parts is kind of like WHOPPERS.
Chelle: What a sweet memory with your grandma.
My childhood supermarket sweet treat was Twix.
I really want to try these!
I gave your blog an award - check out my blog to collect it: http://lunchfitforakid.blogspot.com
Astrid: I think wrapped cones would fit well inside a bento bag, and unwrapped ones inside a bento box (albeit they may be a little big. But Chelle says the cones also come in mini size).
Thanks for giving my blog an award, heh. I can’t complete the questions just yet; I could barely get posts up during this especially busy week.
