Japanese Dollar Store II
Yes, another post about the Japanese dollar store. And possibly my last one. About the store, that is. See, during my last visit there a few days ago, when I was standing in a quiet corner taking photos, a shrill voice rang out with, “You can’t take pictures in here!”
Oh boy, not this again. I knew I needed to work on my ninja photo-taking skills. Or lack thereof.
But I’m not bitter about no longer being able to take photos there. Except when I think about it.
Anyhoo, I went to the store in search of stocking stuffers of the non-food variety and found some things I wanted to stuff my stocking with.

Like this, which totally brings me back to being a child of the ’80s. Whatcha thinkāis a 20-something too old to rock this heart bracelet?

Anyone else reminded of bangles upon seeing these? (Remember those bracelets filled with water and glitter? This is not an acknowledgement that I wore them.)

Three bracelets with three matching rings?! What a deal.

I’m, like, totally envious of the five year old who can sport this Princess Heart necklace.

If you have to question whether something is ugly, does that mean that it is?

Colorful book stands.

The other ‘side’, the letter D, of the letter C book stand. I don’t know anyone with the initials C.D. or D.C. Do you?

Although I’m not a smoker, I still find this portable/soft ashtray kind of cool.

What I actually came home with, because I can’t seem to leave That Store Which Shall No Longer Be Named without a notebook.

Especially when it has this kind of nonsensical yet philosophical message.

And I also picked up a couple of these…

card cases.

If you are happy and you know it and you really want to show it. Um, *clap, clap*.

I’m so happy to have found your blog! I was just wishing their was some kind of guide to Japanese grocery stores. I never know what to try! Thank you!!! I’ll be featuring your blog on my site http://dropdeadkawaii.blogspot.com in the next week.
I stumbled onto your side the other day and I fell in love with it. Subscribed to your rss feed already. But anyways, loved the card case. Especially their slogan
PetSugar: Hello! My list of Japanese items is (unintentionally) the longest; I could have easily made this blog all about Japanese things. Thanks for visiting!
Kelly: Glad to have you here! Yeah, I love how a lot of the things I see at the Japanese dollar store aren’t as simple as they first appear to be.
I like the look of that pink pearl bracelet. Also, soft portable ashtrays? SOFT ashtrays that look like a purse? (On the plus side, I looked up carabiner and learned something new!) And the little panda with the sideways V eyes is uber cute. And if those car cases were wallets, that’d be cuter. Who uses card cases? It looks like it’s only meant to hold 2 cards. But the polka dots Are cute.
