Choco Boy Chocolate & Biscuits

I’m not sure what the maker of this snack was thinking when it was, well, made. But it probably wasn’t a consumer thinking of playground taunt, “Mushroom Head! Mushroom Head!” every time she sees it.

No, probably not. Instead the maker thought to name the character on the box Choco Boy, and provide us with a helpful diagram of how to uh, eat him.

Mushroom Head! Mushroom Head!

Oh, these biscuits require a pair of scissors?

I don’t think so.

I’m thinking these are straw mushrooms?

What I like about this snack is that you can bite off the milk-chocolate end…

or plain-biscuit one…

or pop the whole thing in your mouth and taste both. I think I like this option best.
P.S. Thank you to reader Akindofmagick for introducing this item to me. I’m sorry it took so long to post about it.

Sighs. I’ve always wanted to try these. Unfortunately, none of the Asian stores around here carry any. Oh well, I guess I’ll just stick to Yan Yan, Pocky, and Hello Panda for now.
Mee: I think these taste similar to Yan Yan, Pocky, and Hello Panda, with their plain biscuit and creamy chocolate combination. Although the reader who introduced me to Choco Boy Chocolate & Biscuits greatly prefers them to Hello Panda.
looks like a copy of the Meiji version (http://www.amazon.com/Meiji-Kinoko-No-Yama-3-13/dp/B000W4OQRW)
or it could be the other way round.
choco boy? what kind of name is that? i personally think they should have named it choco mushrooms or something like that. and i think its kind of obvious which side is chocolate and which side is the biscuit…
@ mee: i like yan yan better i think because you can choose how much chocolate you want on it…
just a thought…
