Japanese Dollar Store III
I returned to the scene of the scolding. This time I’m talking about the Japanese dollar store because yes, I’ve been reprimanded a few times for snapping photos during the course of this blog. (I think those people need to eat an ice-cream cone with sprinkles, or something.)
Anyway, I bloggered-up and faced the back of the girl who scolded me, as she went to get on her broom or stick needles into cushioned dolls. She could have also been getting inventory from the stockroom, I’m not certain.

So, my finds. This bowl? I think it says it all.

This one reminds me of something I’ve wondered on and off about: Are pigs cute?

My answer is yes, at least in regard to this one.

Maybe my sole reason for visiting this Japanese dollar store—its notebook selection.

How to write the spelling of frog. Oh, dear.
(Which brings to mind yet another thing. Um, something I’ve managed to heal from after years of therapy. Okay…I don’t mean to brag, *hair flip*, but I’m totally a three-time, elementary-school spelling-bee champ. The second time I won, in the fourth grade, I beat a fifth grader. My winning word was ‘allowed.’ Or was it ‘aloud’? Anyhoo, my victory caused quite the controversy, so much of one that some fifth-grade boys wanted to congratulate me with their fists. I’m not making this stuff up. Not that part of the paragraph, anyway.)

But it’s okay, I’ve recovered. And I dang well can spell frog. So here’s an ‘F’ you to, er, I mean here’s an ‘F’ for those boys.

And a ‘R.’

Followed by an ‘O.’

And finished with a ‘G.’

F-R-O-G. Take that, former grade-school-delinquents-who-didn’t-know-that-allowed-and-aloud-are-homophones.

What did I learn in therapy? Focus on the positive.

It is a wonderful day, today. The sun is shining and the sky is blue in my city.

I will eat a lot of strawberries, the next time I buy them.

Hello! to you, too.

That you are.

Lady in love!

Um, I’m not going to answer the first question, “Do you like me?” because responding to a drawing of a bear asking that on a notebook is just weird.
But the second question? “What do you want?”
I want a new pair of cute and comfortable summer sandals, now.
I want a box of chocolate truffles, usually.
And I want world peace, always.
For real.

Super cute! Is this Daiso or some place else? I still have yet to make the one here. Tried last year but got lost and screaming kids kept me from searching further.
you’re so lucky to have a Japanese dollar store near you… I would so stock up on Bento supplies… which are non-existant here ::big sighs:: good that they didn;t scold you this time
Slammie: Yes, it’s Daiso. And I think taking the screaming kids to it will keep them quiet.
Besides notebooks, I really like Daiso’s selection of bowls, plates, and mugs, many of which I use for my food photos. They’re usually $1.50 to $3 apiece.
Sonya: Yeah, they do have cute bento supplies. And I think they didn’t scold me because of my improved ninja photo-taking skills—hiding in aisles, avoiding security cameras, dodging store employees…
The “I Eat A Lot” panda bowls. *GEnius!* I love it. So many amusing notebooks, I see what you mean. I recently went to Little Tokyo and there was this Japanese store with a bunch of cute stuff and I uh, kinda went nuts in there. So my friends left me in there for an hour (haha) while I squealed over the terribly cute Totoro, Domokun, Rilakkuma, etc. things in the store. I bought a couple of purses (like, coin purses). Why would I buy several coin purses? One is the max, right? Oh, not when it comes to my weakness for extremely cute Japanese things!
I wish I had a Japanese dollar store near me too! I’m with Lian: I love those wonderful panda bowls. Why can’t my dollar store stock those cute items? We get things like pens and pencils, candle holders that nobody would purchase, and stale candy. They get cute bears and pandas and love. It is no contest! (sorry to hear about the spelling bee brawl)
Dollar Store Knitting: I agree; Japanese dollar stores are awesome, and have a bowl-up on American ones. It’s wayyy too easy to find things to spend my money on there, and I’m not even talking about one of my great loves, food. Hmm…but I do think I’ve cured myself of buying cute notebooks.
