Japanese Supermarket Hot Foods
I was walking along a personally well-traveled path in the Japanese supermarket the other day when I noticed something out of the ordinary…the hot-foods station was unwomanned. As in, no photo-prohibitor lady with a glare in sight! With such an unexpected break, I knew what I had to do…

Over the glass case my digital camera-holding hands flew, and *click*. Black Cod for $18.99 a pound.

I then whipped my arms back behind the case, and bent my legs slightly. Oyster, Kogane Style ($2.45 each).

A shuffle to the right. Salmon, Kogane Sauce.

Still no mean lady in sight, so I twisted my camera this way and that, looking for a good angle. Pork Belly.

More time? I dropped to a crouch. Salted Mackerel.

Uh-oh, was that her? One last shot, standing front and center. Breaded Chicken Skewer.
Whatcha thinkādo I have a future as a food paparazzo or should I keep my day job?

Yum! Very nice, the prices are a bit high though, hehe.
Haha, food paparazzo! I think the baked oysters with cheese looks sooooo yummy. Awww…*Want to be there*
Haha undercover food paparazzi! This looks so delicious… I think the black cod looks yum.

Sarah Lynn: I agree that the prices are high, a lot high actually. This Japanese supermarket, in general, is pricey. I usually buy only select things from it, like to-go sushi, and get the rest of my Asian groceries from more no-frills markets.
Lian: I was totally thinking about you the first and subsequent times I saw the cheese-covered oysters!
Wei-Wei: I think most of the things in this hot-foods section look tasty…but not enough to warrant the prices!
