Lips Candy (Mixed Fruit)

Altoids got nothin’ on you, Kitty
Nothin’ on you, Kitty
Will I ever stop not-so-secretly loving Hello Kitty things and singing along to catchingly annoying songs on the radio? Let’s hope not for the former. I’d say for the latter, too, but I think passengers in my car would disagree.

Hello Kitty and flowers rule 4eva and eva.

Lips…candy? Lips candy? And a frowning pineapple?!

Okay, this makes sense.

Mixed-fruit-flavored hard candy. I’m not quite sure which fruits—the tin shows drawings of a pineapple and banana and “concentrated apple juice” is listed as an ingredient, yet I can really only taste pineapple. Whatever the fruits, they give a pleasant flavor that’s not too strong or weak.

Be careful when you open the tin because it and the candy are covered in powdered sugar. You may want to keep the tin in a Ziploc baggie if you leave it in your purse.

I am so keeping the tin, Kitties.
* Lyrics were tweaked from Nothin’ On You.

Maybe it’s called Lips because of how the powdered sugar gets all over your lips?
I love hard candies. They are such a classic
And the tin is BEYOND cute!

OMG I haven’t seen lip candy in YEARS! I SO need to find these Hello Kitty themed boxes and surprise my sister with one.
I am going to search out that candy too - must have the tin!!
Wei-Wei, Ivy, and Sarah: I’m glad you guys not-so-secretly like The Kitty, too. Should we start a Kitty movement by collecting this and her other tins? We can call ourselves The Kitties or The Kitty Tin Tins. Or not.
You can find the tins here (search under ‘Hello Kitty lips candy’ and you should see three different tins displayed).
I must still be 12 years old. I really want one.
Sadly, I kinda like the The Tin Kitty - like a play off the old Tin Lizzie. We could have a gifting circle and a club logo and even a uniform… yes, I really must be 12 also. I was at a very serious conference several weeks ago and you should have seen the smiles when I pulled out my HK notepad. Tin Kitties UNITE!!!!!
Oh my gosh, so many people like Hello Kitty. (I must be the minority here then.) I like Domo-Kun and I loooooooooooove Rilakkuma. (Relaxed bear) Sooo freakin’ cute.
Also, I like the sound of a candy that’s not too sweet.
Sooj and Sarah: I say we should all proudly embrace our inner 12 year old!
Sarah: Okay, we may have the (slow) makings of a good Kitties club…we’ve got some discourse going about the name. I know I can probably Google it, but what is Tin Lizzie? I’ve never heard of it. And I loved your little HK notepad story.
If people don’t smile at the sight of Hello Kitty, then they must be, well, boys. (Sorry, boys! But you know it’s true.)
Lian: Wow, thanks for making me feel even more uncool, heh—I’m not familiar with those other characters.
Haha, I liked reading your response to the comment right before mine, “If people don’t smile at the sight of Hello Kitty, then they must be, well, boys.” (Well, I guess I AM rather mannish in personality sometimes.)
And Google, my friend! Google! You can find TONS of pictures of Rilakkuma and Domo-kun. They’re more hilarious in personality than typical Sanrio characters are and that’s what I like about them. (Not that I’ve done a ton of research or anything…) Humor stabs me in the heart and makes me fall in love. That and cuteness.
By the way, lots of people have Hello Kitty themed weddings. (Planting ideas in Hello Kitty lovers’ heads. Their spouses-to-be will hate it, har-har! Unless they won’t.)
Lian: HahaHA! I actually almost edited that sentence with, “If people don’t smile at the sight of Hello Kitty, then they must be, well, boys or Lian.” For real.
