Thai Restaurant 3
This post will have the predictable, a wonder, and a miracle. Um, in that order.

The predictable: Chicken Pad Thai.

I love me some CPT. But only if it’s done ‘right’, with chewy noodles coated in a sauce sour enough that the accompanying lime wedge is unnecessary.

And the chicken should be tender, as this was.

Yum…umm!

The wonder.

Mango Tapioca Pudding. A sweet treat for $1 a cup.

And this! The miracle. What I’d been searching restaurant menus all over the city for…

Mango With Sticky Rice.

It’s a seasonal summer dessert, which I should have remembered in my quest.

When it was finally placed in front of me, I felt a euphoria not unlike the one I get when I find a dress to wear to a wedding that makes me look skinny and is on sale.

The sweet mango was good, yes, but the sticky rice tasted even better.

And rounding out the miracle was coconut milk to drizzle over the rice (and mango). Did I say miracle? I meant bliss, as well.

I love mango with sticky rice. Oftentimes the rice becomes too sweet, though, overpowering the mango a little bit… but they set each other off well. You now have me craving it
Wei-Wei
i love the mango with sticky rice! best combination ever!!!! gotta eat that in hongkong this summer!
This made me want to go get some, RIGHT NOW. The sticky rice at the restaurant I go to is green. Not sure why, but it’s so tasty that I don’t question it.
Ooo, that mango tapioca pudding looks YUM.
Wei-Wei: I really could’ve eaten the sticky rice alone, it was that good. A friend keeps telling me to try it with vanilla ice cream because apparently that’s how it’s served in some Los Angeles restaurants. I think I’d prefer it with mango.
Amwtang: Yes, it’s a wonderful summer treat!
Missy: Maybe it’s green because of food coloring? A lot of my local Vietnamese delis use food coloring for their sticky rice.
Lian: I love how you’re the only one who commented on the tapioca pudding, ha.
Aside from its looking appetizing, I didn’t want it to feel left out.
