This Lychee Flavored Sherbet With Coconut Jelly is another recommendation from reader Lian. The girl knows how to eat, and for that I am grateful.

It’s the maeda-en brand, the same one as the yummylicious Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream.

The following photos may be the most unattractive ones I’ve posted so far, but they are probably the most ‘real’ ones.

Vegetable, Pork & Leek Dumplings; Dumpling Sauce

Someone wrote me recently saying that she loves Ling Ling Dipping Sauce, yet it’s no longer being sold by the bottle. She asked if I or readers could recommend another similar dipping sauce?

I said fine, I know what it’s like to have a favorite item be discontinued (I’m still upset with you, Sephora!) so let me pick up a bag of dumplings and bottle of dumpling sauce, eat a dozen of the dumplings with the sauce, tell everyone what I thought of the two things, and ask for dumpling sauce recommendations.

Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream

Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream. Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream! A soft rice cake filled with sweet strawberry ice cream that makes a light snack or dessert. After taking the second photo, I cut a mochi in half intending to photograph the ice cream part. But before I could do that, the ice cream had oozed out, getting all over my fingers. So I did what came instinctively—I popped the mochi into my mouth. One half-piece at a time because geez, I’m not a glutton. Wait, maybe I am. I ate two more pieces of mochi after seeing them in their pale-pink, blown-up glory on my computer screen.
